NewsVerder goes for gold
Verder Pumps SA (VPSA), part of the International Verder Group, provides first-class solutions as part of the liquids handling division to all industrial processes across South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. “It is the global approach to innovation that is key to our success. The Group’s commitment to continuous innovation leads to providing efficient and cost-effective business solutions to seamlessly fit our customer needs,” affirms VPSA director Keith Gass. “’Solutions in pumping technology’ is indeed what we strive for at VPSA. We know that the safe handling of liquids is one of the most important processes in the industry. This includes the processes in the mining and chemical industries, in food or even in pharmaceutical processes.” Gass continues, “Handling liquids requires knowledge of processes and sometimes even empiric research and testing of the fluid. Our passionate sales engineers ensure to source the best possible solution to suit the application, providing customers with the best products, solutions and support available.” It is the total commitment by VPSA to ensure that the most-suited pump is selected for the right application, which sets the company apart from the other players. As energy efficiency and lower operating costs dominate the agenda during the current global economic downturn, VPSA remains determined to provide the most efficient and cost effective solutions. VPSA supply a range of competitive Verderair air-operated diaphragm pumps that have exploded onto the market place, as with the Verdermag mag-drive centrifugal pump range that have been successful in the mining and chemical markets due to their guaranteed leak-free design features. “Our notorious Verderflex peristaltic hose pump range continues to grow in popularity, in particular our largest peristaltic hose pump – Verderflex VF125 – that has set yet another record at VPSA. A total of 52 VF125 pumps have been sold from the South African operation: the most sold in the entire Verder Group. “The latest order for six VF125s was received for the Waterval Concentrator Retrofit plant in Rustenburg for the pump’s heaviest duty to date. The pumps are being installed at the Thickener Underflows pumping platinum slurry with SGs between 1.8 and 2, and flows ranging from 30m3/h to 50m3/h. Twelve VF125s are already working at Waterval Smelter, and the latest order, brings the number of pumps to 18, with and extra pump as a spare, at the plant” reveals Gass. “Another exciting development to widen our range of pumping solutions, has been the addition of ABEL piston diaphragm pumps to handle the most challenging pumping applications,” states Gass. “The pumps are ideal for providing greater energy and cost savings in large scale processes.” A golden anniversary for the Verder Group and record sales for VPSA has the company optimistic about the future, despite the challenging economic outlook. “Optimism and wealth are often associated with gold. Not only is the gold metal impressive, it is strong, and resistant to corrosion. In 2009, gold is what VPSA will aspire for in every possible way,” concludes Gass. |
